Née le 8 décembre 1970, la CCFA est un élément important du dispositif qui concerne les relations économiques et commerciales franco-arabes.
Créée sous l’impulsion de la Ligue des Etats Arabes et d’un ancien ministre du Général de Gaulle, la CCFA est organisée sur une base institutionnelle strictement paritaire qui en fait sa singularité et sa force par son partenariat avec les organisations économiques des pays arabes. Elle est soumise au droit français et régie par la loi 1901 sur les associations.
