PRESENTATION

Established in 1970 as an association governed by the Law of 1901 and the Law of November 12, 1956, which regulates the use of the designation “Chamber of Commerce,” the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce is a mixed and joint consultative assembly. Its mission is to promote and develop trade relations as well as industrial, financial, tourism, and agricultural cooperation between French and Arab economic operators.
Membership in the Chamber is open to industrial and commercial enterprises, banks, liberal professions, chambers of commerce, and employers’ organizations from France and Arab countries.
In accordance with the Chamber’s statutes, the President is of French nationality, while the Secretary General, responsible for the executive functions of the Chamber, is of Arab nationality. The members of the Board of Directors are elected on a parity basis by the Ordinary General Assembly.
The Chamber’s geographical jurisdiction covers France and the 22 member states of the League of Arab States, namely: Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Morocco, Mauritania, Palestine, Qatar, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen.
